MFM120 Series
Compact Fixed Scanner with Corner-Exit Design & RS232 Option

The Versatile Integrator for Industrial Kiosks & Legacy Systems

The MFM120 Series strikes the perfect balance between compact size and industrial ruggedness. Designed to solve common integration headaches, it features a unique corner-exit cable architecture that minimizes installation depth, allowing the scanner to fit into tight spaces where traditional straight-cable models fail. With RS232 support on request and industrial-standard M3 mounting holes, it is the ideal drop-in solution for upgrading legacy ATMs, parking meters, and price checkers. Available with optional IP54 protection, the MFM120 delivers stable, high-performance decoding in a cost-effective package.

Key Features: Smart Integration & Industrial Versatility

Space-Saving Corner-Exit Design

The cable exits from the corner of the housing rather than straight out of the back, minimizing required installation depth. This allows flat mounting against surfaces in space-constrained kiosks.

RS232 Option & USB Plug-and-Play Connectivity

USB HID is plug-and-play with no extra driver needed, and USB Virtual-COM is available for modern setups. RS232 is available on request for seamless integration into legacy industrial systems (PLCs, older ATMs).

Secure M3 Mounting Standard

Equipped with standard M3 threaded holes for robust installation. Helps keep the scanner securely fixed, including on vibrating equipment, surpassing fragile micro-screw designs.

Flexible IP54 Protection (Optional)

Comes standard with an IP42 housing, with an option to upgrade to IP54 on request (tested in-house). Ideal for semi-outdoor applications like parking meters or drive-thru terminals requiring dust and moisture resistance.

Compact Size, Maximum Value

Combines a compact, protective housing with reliable decoding performance. The MFM120 delivers a high cost-performance ratio for mass deployment in price checkers and ticketing machines.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a corner-exit cable, and why does it matter?
The cable leaves the scanner from the corner of the housing rather than straight out of the back. That reduces the depth needed behind the scanner, so it can be mounted flat in tight kiosk and machine enclosures.

Which interfaces does the MFM120 support?
USB HID (plug-and-play, no extra driver needed) and USB Virtual-COM. RS232 is available on request. It runs on 5V DC.

What is the IP rating?
The standard housing is IP42. An upgrade to IP54 is available on request (tested in-house).

How far can it read?
Measured at 600 lux with standard barcodes: a 4 mil Code 39 reads from 50 to 115 mm, a 5 mil Code 39 from 50 to 145 mm, a 13 mil EAN13 from 60 to 210 mm, and a 20 mil QR Code from 40 to 240 mm (tolerance ±10 mm). Actual range varies with barcode quality and ambient conditions.

How big is it, and how is it mounted?
39.2 x 20.6 x 49.6 mm (W x H x D, without cable) and under 52 g with cable. It has standard M3 threaded mounting holes.
